The recent IATEFL conference in Manchester was a fantastic meeting of like-minded people. There were more talks than ever on the topic of dyslexia in language learning, including a symposium, and a talk by Anne Margaret on the final day which was completely packed out, with people sitting in the corridor to listen. It was agreed by many that a new Special Interest Group focussing on dyslexia/SpLD was needed and over 100 signatures were collected to support the motion. The IATEFL committee is now considering this idea. Next year both ELT welland ESF will be there in Birmingham, and we hope to see you at the stall.
